Eaton's Viking Outboards
Eaton's Viking Outboards were manufactured by several companies over the years. First sold in 1933, the 4 horse power opposed twin was built by Evinrude Motors. These motors were the first to sport the “Eaton's Viking” name, which emerged as the store's brand. In the post WWII era, Evinrude merged with ELTO, and Johnson and began producing off brand motors through their Gale division. Eatons sold Gale built motors manufactured in Peterborough Ontario through to 1964. Eatons began to purchase Chrysler built motors when the Outboard Motors Corporation closed their Gale division in 1964.
